Services, Both In and Out.
Muller Media Conversions (MMC), founded in 1978, has continually introduced valuable
new services.
Incoming: Scanning.
Microfilm, microfiche and aperture cards have been used for many years
to save important information. However, modern digital files with
searchable text etc. make for a far more convenient means of access. MMC
has added powerful new
capabilities for scanning and digitizing such media. Output can be
straight digital images, text-searchable images or PDF, or OCR'd text
documents. Faded or damaged original film or duplicates require and
receive meticulous handling.
Aperture cards, including the punched Hollerith text metadata can
also be scanned and converted.
Outgoing:
Archiving to Microfilm has
proven to be the most reliable means of
preserving visual materials. Experts estimate a lifespan of
up to 500 years when stored properly. That's
why many state and federal organizations require microfilming of
important documents.

There are many
legacy tapes with report files or documents which laws or company policy
declare must be saved for a long time.
They
don’t improve with age. Physical deterioration and
migration to new systems will make that information harder—if not
impossible—to retrieve. MMC has converted millions of tapes and disks
over the years.: Now, when converting legacy data to more modern digital
media, the output can also be placed on microfilm for long-term
compliance. The price for such a combined operation is far below doing
them separately.
